2018 $1000 Scholarship Winners


Julie Santos

Julie Santos, daughter of Denise and Samuel Santos, is a senior at Madison Academic, and will attend Boyce College in Louisville, Kentucky. She plans to major in intercultural studies (missions) with a career interest in missionary and travel journalism. Her references describe her as loving, passionate, intelligent, and hardworking; she is confident in her beliefs and is driven by her faith in Christ; she is respected by both her peers and school leaders; and she excels in whatever role she undertakes.

 

Meredith Nye

Meredith Nye, daughter of Kelly and Christopher Nye, is and senior at Madison Academic, and will attend Tennessee Tech. She plans to major in mechatronics (mechanical and electrical engineering) with a career interest in prosthetics design. Meredith's references describe her as being passionate about art, soccer, and serving others; she is a natural leader; she works hard at everything she does; and she has a heart for the lost and downtrodden.

 


Isabella Turner

Isabella Turner, daughter of Tammie and William Turner, is a senior at USJ, and will be attending Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She plans to major in psychology with a career interest in law "to provide a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves." According to Isabella's references, she is mature,
goal-oriented, and a dedicated student; she has a natural affinity for writing; she has an empathy that surpasses her years; and she takes no opportunity for granted.

 

Recipients of the Sam Bomar Eagle Scout Merit Award

Joseph Curtin, son of Shelly and Tom Curtin,

and Braden Scheidecker, son of Rebecca Scheidecker,

both seniors at Madison Academic, will each receive a
Sam Bomar Eagle Scout Merit Award of a $250 gift card.
Joseph and Braden are members of Troop 6.
